Beauty of Mathematics

"Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty — a beauty cold and austere, without the gorgeous trappings of painting or music." —Bertrand Russell

This is a quote by a famous philosopher and mathematician which is used to introduce the BEAUTY OF MATHEMATICS video I came across. I found it to be very inspirational and would like to share it with you.

In my opinion Beauty of Mathematics will be enjoyable to watch equally by students, parents, and teachers alike.

Anybody has a question about why we need math?

Here is the answer:  Beauty of Mathematics Video

  1. I really like anything that makes learning important for students. This video could serve as a great way to show students that math is important not only for the practical applications, but also for the beauty it can and does possess. It could also serve as a starting point for an activity that would allow students to create their own math-based art, as a cross-curricular activity in the classroom. Creating art like fractals (which can be done on the computer or using paper and scissors) is a fun activity for students that can illustrate the beauty of math.
