While perusing the net for math related news I came across a Washington Post article on Danica McKellar (of Wonder Years fame.)  Since her spell in hollywood, Danica has become a vocal advocate for math with her books Math Doesn't Suck and Kiss My Math.  McKellar is more than just a celebrity looking to cash in however, as she studied mathematics at UCLA, graduating summa cum laude in 1998.  What a wonderful role model for our young ladies today.  She has a math blog of her own that is found on her website.

    I had not idea Whitney from the Wonder Years was a math enthusiast. This would be a great promotional tool to encourage young women to continue post-secondary studies in math. The study of math is primarily dominated by males, however Danica is a great role model and leader for young women interested in this field. Thanks for the interesting post!
