At my school, Prodigy is a big hit. I have not been able to use it with my students because it is only available up to grade 6 - it will be available for 7+8 sometime between July and August.
The game uses math curriculum to play a "pokemon" type game where you battle with other online players via math questions. Teachers register their class so they can track individual progress and even tailor the questions to the needs of the student's individual progress.
Best of all, the game is free.
Great idea, if there are ways to allow the students to interact and enjoy the work. Already we are a step ahead, I looked into this and the concept is interesting. The Pokémon developing of the player gives a incentive for students to progress.
